Britain's Prince Philip joins queen at Highland Games

Queen Elizabeth II attended the Highland Games at Braemar in Scotland on Saturday alongside her husband Prince Philip, who was making his second public appearance since being hospitalised last month.

Organisers had feared Philip, 91, would not be able to attend after he spent five nights in hospital in Aberdeen receiving treatment for a recurrence of a bladder infection before being discharged on August 20.

The royal family make an annual outing to the Braemar Gathering, a short distance for their summer residence at Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire where Philip has been recuperating.

Philip defied the cold and damp conditions to accompany the queen, who is patron of the Games, to watch a series of traditional events including caber-tossing, hammer-throwing and the tug of war.

The Duke of Edinburgh, as he is formally known, had first been admitted to hospital with the infection in June, forcing him to miss the end of the diamond jubilee celebrations marking his wife's 60th year on the throne.

Last weekend, the duke made his first public appearance since leaving hospital when he attended a church service at Crathie Kirk, near Balmoral.

The Games, held at the Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park in the village of Braemar, take place on the first Saturday of each September and regularly attract visitors from around the world.

The Gathering is seen as the biggest event in the Highland Games calendar and has a long history, stretching back in its modern form nearly 200 years.

Pistorius stunned in 200 final at Paralympics

(AP) ? A month after his groundbreaking Olympic debut, Oscar Pistorius was reeling from a stunning upset Sunday in the London Paralympics.

The "Blade Runner" had never been beaten over 200 meters until Brazilian sprinter Alan Oliveira came storming down the home straight to win by 0.07 seconds and dethrone the icon of the Paralympics.

Pistorius later accused Oliveira of bending the rules.

Having won his own legal battle to compete wearing carbon-fiber blades alongside able-bodied rivals, Pistorius suggested that Oliveira ran with longer prosthetics than should be allowed.

Oliveira won in 21.45 seconds after overtaking Pistorius at the line at Olympic Stadium in front of a capacity 80,000-strong crowd.

"Not taking away from Alan's performance ? he's a great athlete ? but these guys are a lot taller and you can't compete (with the) stride length," Pistorius said in a broadcast interview. "You saw how far he came back. We aren't racing a fair race. I gave it my best. The IPC (International Paralympic Committee) have their regulations. The regulations (allow) that athletes can make themselves unbelievably high.

"We've tried to address the issue with them in the weeks up to this and it's just been falling on deaf ears."

For Pistorius, it is "ridiculous" that Oliveira could win after being eight meters adrift at the 100-meter mark.

"He's never run a 21-second race and I don't think he's a 21-second athlete," Pistorius said. "I've never lost a 200-meter race in my career."

Oliveira insisted he had not broken the rules, and expressed disappointment with Pistorius' criticism.

"He is a really great idol, and to listen to that coming from a really great athlete is really difficult," Oliveira said through a translator. "I don't know who he's picking a fight with, it's not with me."

Oliveira was backed by Paralympic leaders.

"There is a rule in place regarding the length of the blades, which is determined by a formula based on the height and dynamics of the athlete," the IPC said in a statement. "All athletes were measured today prior to competition by a classifier and all were approved for competition."

IPC officials met with Pistorius after the race.

"He wanted to voice his concerns and we listened to those concerns," said IPC spokesman Craig Spence, one of three people to meet with Pistorius. "The IPC will meet with Oscar at a later date to discuss his concerns once the emotion of tonight is out of the way."

The second half of Pistorius' year in London is not running to script.

At the start of last month, the South African reached the 400 semifinals and the 1,600 relay final. Competing at the Olympics was some achievement alone, though the medals were meant to come at the Paralympics.

He was hoping to go one better than the trio of golds he won in Beijing, but can still leave London with the same haul.

Next up is the 400 relay Wednesday before he tries to defends his titles in the 100 on Thursday and 400 on Saturday.

Is It Possible To Get Accurate Astrology Readings?

By: Rose Smith

For most of us, reading horoscopes have been a part of the daily routine. You can get them in newspapers, on magazines and even while browsing through social media sites. You might even find yourself reaching out for the daily paper to get your daily dose of astrological readings. For some, they use horoscopes as their guiding paths while getting through the daily grind of life. So much so, that majority of the population seeks advice from their zodiac horoscopes, leading them to believe what the stars are saying for that particular day or week. But if you really want to get the most accurate readings, the daily zodiac horoscopes from free sources might not be good enough for you.
Personalized reading
Astrology is a complex field that is governed by the inner events that take place within your birth chart, your planetary movements and your zodiac signs. A free horoscope reading only scratches the surface of your zodiac. To get a more accurate prediction and advice, be it for your daily or weekly guidance, it would be best to find someone who can read you a personalized analysis of your horoscope by taking the abovementioned elements into factor.
Look for a reliable astrologer
Aside from their skills, you might want to search for an astrologer who is already known for their accurate readings and their ability to provide you with a better insight on your future. You might think that this is too much, but if you are the kind of person who relies on their daily horoscope and makes it a part of your decision-making process, then it would be of great help that you seek the assistance of someone with credible psychic abilities.
Other mediums of astrological readings
Aside from getting your daily dose of horoscope, you can also explore other areas of psychic readings. Tarot reading is one branch that is equally interesting and can provide you with accurate predictions of your future and present situation. A tarot card reading session normally starts out with you selecting cards from the deck of the card reader. She will then analyze your selections by summarizing the traits that shows up and interpret them according to your questions. Normally, tarot card readings last for less than an hour but the guidance and the advice that you will get will stay with you for a long time.

Celtic twice squander lead in Hibs draw

Hibernian twice came from behind as Scottish Premier League champions Celtic were left to rue their wastefulness in front of goal as they were held to a 2-2 draw at Celtic Park on Saturday.

A strike from Swedish international Mikael Lustig and an own-goal from James McPake had Celtic ahead on two separate occasions, but Hibs hit back each time through Tim Clancy and then Paul Cairney.

The result leaves Celtic, who were showing signs of a European hangover following their midweek Champions League exploits, top of the SPL on goal difference from Hibs, albeit with a game in hand.

"Bar the two goals I was pretty pleased with the performance and we murdered them in the first half," Celtic manager Neil Lennon said.

"If you miss easy chances and give away goals of the nature we did you are always going to be fighting to win the game but I think we can count ourselves very unlucky not to win the game today."

Meanwhile, Hibs manager Pat Fenlon was pleased with his side's battling spirit.

"I thought in the second half we played really well and when it is only 1-0 you always have a chance," he said.

"It is a different type of character in the dressing room now and they want to fight and scrap for each other."

After beating Helsingborgs 2-0 on Wednesday to return to the Champions League group stages for the first time in four years, Celtic took just over nine minutes to take the lead in Glasgow's East End.

Paddy McCourt's corner was met by the unmarked Lustig who fired a volley low past Williams into the bottom corner of the net.

And Celtic went close to doubling their advantage 10 minutes later when Gary Hooper smashed a shot which cracked off the underside of the bar and bounced out.

It was all one-way traffic and James Forrest was the next to come close as his fierce strike from 20 yards whistled inches past the post before Tony Watt sent his chipped effort wide when one-on-one with the 'keeper.

Hooper came closer five minutes from the break when he got on the end of Adam Matthews' cross from the right and bulleted his header off the post.

The Hoops were nearly made to pay for their wastefulness in front of goal in the 47th minute when Eoin Doyle got on the end of Leigh Griffiths' curling free-kick to flick a shot off the base of the post before the defence cleared the danger.

However, Hibs were soon on level terms when a defensive clanger handed the Easter Road side a 53rd-minute equaliser.

In a moment of madness, both Lustig and Fraser Forster failed to deal with a chipped ball forward, allowing Clancy to nick the ball around the 'keeper and roll it into the empty net.

Lustig atoned for his part in Hibernian's equaliser when he helped put the Hoops in front again in the 69th minute thanks to a mistake from Ben Williams.

The Hibs 'keeper failed to hold Filip Twardzik's free-kick and spilled the ball into the path of Lustig who netted in off Hibs captain McPake.

However, the Edinburgh side were back on level terms just four minutes later thanks to a fine solo goal from Cairney.

The Celtic defence switched off and allowed the Hibs midfielder space to run into the box and send a shot under the body of Forster into the bottom corner of the net.

Twardzik missed a golden chance to win it for Celtic when he blazed a shot over the bar from eight yards before Williams made a fingertip save to deny substitute Kris Commons with four minutes remaining.

Elsewhere, Aberdeen against St Mirren, Ross County versus Kilmarnock and the Tayside derby between St Johnstone and Dundee United all finished goalless.

There are two games on Sunday, with Hearts entertaining bottom side Dundee and Motherwell taking on Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

FDA warns against use of Pfizer's Revatio in children - Health Centers

? Children's Health ? ? Drug Abuse ? Aug 31, 2012

U.S. health regulators recommended against use of Pfizer Inc?s pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) drug Revatio in children up to 17 years of age, saying it had a higher risk of death when taken in a high dose.

While the drug has never been approved for treatment of PAH in children, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration?s warning is against off-label use of the drug.

Revatio, which has the same active ingredient as Pfizer?s erectile dysfunction drug Viagra, is used to improve the ability to exercise in people with PAH - or High Blood Pressure in the vessels carrying blood to the lungs.

The FDA said the recommendation against the use of the drug is based on a recent clinical trial, and the Revatio drug label will carry the warning.
