Clamour for funds as cancer boy is treated | The Times

Parents, clinicians and charities have called for extra funding to tackle childhood brain tumours and limit the debilitating side-effects of treatment.

It comes as a judge ordered that a seven-year-old boy should have radiotherapy against his mother?s wishes. Mr Justice Bodey rejected the arguments of Sally Roberts that her gravely ill son, Neon, should not have the treatment because of the potential side-effects. Ordering that Neon have radiotherapy as soon as possible, the judge said: ?The mother has been through a very stressful time. This sort of news is a parent?s nightmare and I have sympathy for her.?
